Stilly Brook Farm

September 14, 2018

This week’s blog post is a little different because the bride is me, Laura! After planning my own wedding and getting to work with Erica, I saw just how much of a positive impact she had on my wedding day and I knew I wanted to help other brides have the same amazing experience. Long story short I am now a Day of Coordinator and the blogger for Town and Country Weddings! I just love the wedding industry and being part of other people’s special day, and being able to blog about them is just as amazing. Now on to the fun stuff!

My wedding was held at Stilly Brook Farm, a stunning venue nestled on 40 acres of farmland with panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains. This year-round venue offers many different locations for ceremony, but we chose to hold ours upstairs in the breathtaking barn loft. The rustic romantic feel was exactly what we wanted for our special day.

I wore a mermaid-style dress, with all-over lace detailing, sweetheart neckline and a sweeping train. I also added to my look by wearing vintage pearl jewelry and a cathedral length veil; the same veil my mother wore on her wedding day. My husband wore a charcoal suit, accented with a navy tie and brown dress shoes. He also custom ordered cufflinks made from shotgun shells for himself and the rest of the men involved in the wedding.

The bridesmaids looked striking in their floor length navy gowns. All their dresses were made by the same designer, but I had each girl pick the neckline they liked best to add some personalization to their looks. The groomsman all wore charcoal suits, to mimic the groom.

We took our pictures outside framed by the beautiful gray November sky. Although it was a bit chilly, it was the perfect backdrop for the day. The girls and I carried bouquets full of a big white blooms, and the reception was also spotted with white blooms and tons of candles to add to the romantic feel of the day. We held our reception on the lower floor of the barn, as well as outside under the cover of heat-lamps and dancing lights. Our send off was truly magical! Guests were given fiber optic colored wands, and they waved them around us as we walked out of the venue and headed off to our honeymoon.

My wedding day is not something I will soon forget! We were surrounded by everyone we love, in a beautiful place, celebrating our love for each other. It was everything my husband and I wanted, and more.
